How to print your download

Everything below applies to any poster, map or wallpaper you buy from us. It takes about five minutes to get a result you would pay a framer for.

1. Find your files

A download link appears on the confirmation screen the moment you pay, and a copy is emailed to you. If the email has not arrived within a few minutes, check spam and promotions folders — it will be from Shopotle. Still nothing? Email info@shopotle.com with your order number and we will resend it.

Your files never expire. You can re-download them whenever you like.

2. Pick a size

Each poster and map comes in six sizes, ready to go:

  • Inches — 16×20, 18×24, 24×36
  • International — A4, A3, A2

Everything is supplied at 300 DPI, except 24×36 which is 200 DPI — still comfortably sharp at the viewing distance a poster that size is meant for.

Do not scale a small file up to a bigger frame. Use the file that matches the size you are printing, and it will be crisp.

3. Print it

At home. Best for A4 and A3. In the print dialog, choose Actual size or 100% — never Fit to page, which quietly shrinks the image and leaves uneven margins. Matte or satin photo paper, 200gsm or heavier, makes an enormous difference over copier paper.

At a print shop. Best for 18×24 and 24×36. Upload the file, ask for matte or lustre finish, and say "print at 100%, do not resize." Most high-street copy shops and online printers handle this in a day or two. Expect to pay far less than a ready-made framed print costs.

4. Frame it

Every size we supply is a standard frame size, so you can buy a frame off the shelf. If you want a border, ask the print shop for a white margin, or buy a frame with a mat opening one size down from the paper.

Wallpapers

Phone wallpapers are 1290×2796px, which fits modern smartphone screens. Desktop wallpapers come in 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 (4K). Save the file to your device and set it as your background — no printing needed.

A note on use

Files are for personal use — your home, your desk, a gift for someone. They are not licensed for resale, reprinting for sale, or commercial use.
